We are excited to have our students back on campus! Classes will resume tomorrow at the normal starting time. Residential students will be picked up today, Tuesday, January 27th, at their normal Sunday pick up time and location. If you have transportation questions, please reach out to Mr. Moody. ❄️ After assessing the significant ice on my driveway and surrounding roads, along with forecasts calling for temperatures to drop into the teensº this evening, we will have a remote learning day tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27.
Please follow the previously shared expectations for remote learning.
We have received sad news today. The Mason Dixon Tournament has been cancelled for this year. Superintendent Dr. Edwards has posted an Announcement for the Deaf community.
❄️ Due to inclement weather, ENCSD will have a remote learning day on Monday, January 26.
We will continue to closely monitor road conditions for Tuesday and will share any additional updates tomorrow.

There are reports of a winter storm that could bring severe weather to our area. We are watching the weather closely and will post any announcements for school delay or closures necessary to keep our students and staff safe. We are encouraging students to bring home their devices to be ready for remote learning. Teachers are working with their students to prepare them for all possibilities. We will post updates as necessary.

The 1st Semester Awards Ceremony, awarding our students' outstanding performance for the first semester of the school year, was a resounding success! Our students put on a play, the middle school robotics team talked about robotics and showed off their robot, the Cheer Squad performed some cheers for us, the basketball team showed their school spirit, and besides all that our students received awards for perfect attendance, A/B honor roll, Library, Art, and Gym awards!
Yesterday our students received bus safety training. 🚍 They practiced what to do in case of an emergency on the bus and got to hop out of the back door.
Our Fall 2025 Semester Student Awards Ceremony is taking place next Friday, January 16th from 11:00AM to 12:00PM, on ENCSD campus in Massey Auditorium.
Performances done by the Elementary/Middle Drama Club, Middle School Robotics, and Cheerleaders! Families have the option to join students for lunch after the ceremony.
Update This will be the last time to see the team in action at Sallie B. Howard for this season. The remaining games are true away games. Our basketball team and cheerleading squad would love your support!

ASL community classes are returning to ENCSD in the new year! Every Tuesday in January starting January 6th, and ending January 27th.
Signing Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Georgie the Reign Dog visits ENCSD today. The students and staff always enjoy a visit from Santa. Thank you for bringing Christmas cheer to our school, Santa!
Yesterday Marie's class read a story about a gingerbread man, watched a movie about a gingerbread man, watched a video about decorating gingerbread men, and decorated their own.

Our residential students have been working hard in the classroom and in the kitchen this week! After school, some of our students prepared and cooked a special Christmas "breakfast for dinner" meal that included monkey bread, breakfast casserole, bacon, cookies and more.
For Spirit Week, Wednesday's theme was Wrapped-up Wednesday.
