The Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf (ENCSD), established in 1964, is a day/residential facility for the education of children who are deaf and hard of hearing. It is located on a beautiful and historic fifty-four acre campus in Wilson North Carolina.
ENCSD is dually accredited by the Conference of Educational Administrators Serving the Deaf (CEASD), an organization of executive heads of educational programs for hearing impaired students in the United States and Canada and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), A regional committee uder the National Study of Schools.
ENCSD is under the juridisction of the Office of Education Services (OES). Organizationally, the school functions uder the auspices of the Department of Health and Human Serivces (DHHS).
